The kids had Presidents Day off of school. As we were trying to decide what to do, they came up with three different ideas. Grace wanted to go to the playground. Leo wanted to go to the trampoline park. Harrison wanted to go to the beach. So that's what we did, in that order.
I had no idea Grace could do the monkey bars until she climbed up there and did. Amazing! Harrison provided the background piano track for the video.
Clearly the birds had not been fed all winter because they practically attacked us wanting food.
It was definitely a cool day (high 50s) but the water was freezing! The boys wanted to do a polar plunge while Grace only got her feet wet.
The next day was Mardi Gras! I made gumbo and a king cake. We talked about what Fat Tuesday, Ash Wednesday and Lent mean. It was the cherry on top to our marathon day of fun the day before.
Leo got the baby (which represents the baby Jesus) and means that he is supposed to provide the king cake for next year.
