Disney Day 1

Day 1 was Magic Kingdom.  It was everything we thought it would be and more.  Number one for Grace was meeting all the Disney princesses.  I was impressed with how engaging all of the characters were, especially with the kids.
Ariel, Tiana and Rapunzel were a big highlight for Grace.
Stitch was definitely the most fun character experience.
We spent most of the day in two groups, Jeff & Leo and me & Grace.  Harrison ping ponged between the two groups depending on what we were doing.  His favorite of the day was the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor.

Space Mountain
Two of Grace's favorites rides in Magic Kingdom were It's a Small World and the People Mover.  We rode that one twice.
Both Leo and Jeff's favorite ride was Tron.
Because we purchase the photo package, Disney added a little magic to some of our pictures.  It was also nice to have other people take the pictures.  That's Lumiere in front of the Beast's castle.
We rode the ferry to Magic Kingdom and were there for the rope drop (when the park opened) and stayed until it closed at 11:00.  Between the five of us, we rode 14 rides and saw 4 shows, including the parade and fireworks.  It was a BIG and hot day!

January extras

January is a weird month.  It's kind of a let down from the holidays but also a time to start over and set new goals for the year.  It was also really cold.

An elephant onesie is apparently the warmest thing to wear over a leotard.

dreams

"A dream is a wish your heart makes
When you're fast asleep."
We're at Disney World as I type this, so naturally I thought of this song when thinking about dreams.  However, this post is about when the kids had a day off of school for MLK Day.  While Jeff & Harrison stayed home to take down all our outside Christmas lights; I took Leo & Grace to the museum where we met up with some friends.  We hadn't been here in a while (the kids kind of outgrew it).  But it was fun reliving some of the things we used to do here.
It was also a very cold day with snow flurries.  Everyone had to run outside as soon as one snow flake was spotted.
As we spoke about why MLK Day was significant, I asked the kids what their dreams are.  Grace said to draw really good.  Leo said to be a professional soccer player.  Harrison said to skydive.  Jeff & I feel like we're living the dream with these kids!

school fun

Harrison competed with his middle school archery team at regionals.
He did so well for his first ever tournament and qualified for the state tournament!
Leo & Grace's school had a fundraiser week where the kids paid a dollar each day to participate in certain theme days.  Grace was all in.  Leo only wanted to do one day.
Monday - pajama day
I forgot to take a picture for Tuesday - bring a stuffed animal day.
Wednesday - hat day
Thursday - twin day
Grace's friend, Piper, wanted to match with Grace.  Her mom bought them outfits.
Friday - students dress like teachers and teachers dress like students day
I didn't get a picture with Grace and her teacher but did with Leo & his.
Mrs. C has short purple hair that Leo wanted to copy.
His teacher loved it!
