Leo finished his indoor soccer season.  He was the high scorer on his team and played better than ever.  Even though his team lost almost every game, he still had fun.

His last game was against his old indoor soccer coach, who he loved.  Also in the last game another player's head hit his face.  He was on the sidelines for about five minutes with ice on his face.

Leo had some amazing plays this season.  Of course I didn't catch them on video.

Aunt Becky

My sister came up from Charlotte to spend the long weekend with us.  The kids were off two days at the end of the week for teacher work days.  I asked her to wait until she came to give the kids their Christmas presents.  The kids were thrilled.

Among other things, she took the kids to the trampoline park, Leo's soccer game, made smores with them, babysat for us so Jeff & I could go out, went to church with us, walked the kids to school and added a lot of fun to the weekend.

She also brought several boxes of Frito Lay (where she works) chips to donate to the school for the dance in February.  Harrison requested chips for the whole fifth grade (65 students) and was thrilled to bring them today.

Leo's campaign

Leo was chosen to be on the student council.  When it was time to elect officers, he decided to run for treasurer.  Only 4th & 5th graders can be officers.  Leo was the only 4th grader who ran against two 5th graders for treasurer.  I thought Leo did such a good job on his slogans, posters and speech.   I didn't think about recording his speech until after he was in his pajamas.

I should have taken pictures of his posters BEFORE they went to school instead of AFTER they came back home.

Unfortunately, Leo lost the race for treasurer by only ten votes.  He was disappointed but handled it pretty well.  He told me that he shook the winner's hand.  Also unfortunately, because Harrison does the school morning show, he had to announce the results.

January color days

January color days were: yellow, green, blue and purple.  It also shows the yo-yo weather we've had in January: warm, cold, cool and not cold.
