more CT adventures

We ended up being in Connecticut for almost 20 days!  We really tried to make the most of being there and have some adventures.  This was a super fun thing for the boys.  Who would have guessed that you could zip line in a furniture store?
Holy Cannoli!  We got some treats at a highly recommended Italian bakery.
We drove by this fire station several times so we stopped to see if they would show us some trucks.  Of course they were very friendly and happy to show the boys all the equipment.
Harrison brought his Lego firetruck to show them and Leo brought a police plane that he made.
We played at several parks.
The city where we were staying had a huge library.  One day we checked out the kid section.   The boys played there for hours.
There was a piano in front of the library for anyone to play and enjoy.  Harrison thought that was pretty cool.
One of the good things about being stuck away from your home and all those distractions is that you get to spend a lot of quality time together.  Leo sings to Grace all the time.  I love how she is looking at Harrison.
One day Leo was softly stroking Grace's hair.  He said "she feels like a rabbit".  Then he proceeded to touch my arm and tell me that I felt like a skinny pig (which is better than a fat pig), Jeff felt like a bear and Harrison felt like a monkey.  I asked him what he felt like and he said a lion.  Another day Leo was loving on Grace, saying how cute she was and how much he liked her.  Then he licked her across the forehead.  That prompted a more detailed conversation about germs and what's appropriate behavior with a baby.
When we finally got the call that we could leave, we took a minute to get a few pictures outside the condo where we lived for the first time as a family of five.
We were all so ready to go home!  Virginia here we come!
Side note: since coming home Harrison has told me several times that he misses Connecticut.

bonus pictures

We found out today that the hospital photographer had taken pictures of Grace when she was just four days old.  This was the same day we found out about her!  Even with the feeding tube she is still so precious.
I think this one is my favorite.
We are so lucky to have these!!

Connecticut adventures part 2

We drove by Safari Golf every day going back and forth from the hospital.  The boys kept asking to stop so Jeff took Leo one day and I took Harrison another day.  Leo loved all the animals and Harrison actually wanted to learn how to play.  They both enjoyed themselves.
One afternoon we all needed to get out so we went to Hammonasset Beach.  The water was cold but it didn't stop the boys.
The find of the day was a piece of driftwood Harrison found.  They played with that for a long time.
One day I took the boys out all day to two museums so Jeff could get some work done.

What a cute idea to have an entrance/exit just for kids at a children's museum.
We have also been enjoying the pool at the condo (in the background) where we are staying.
