Christmas Eve

I was really trying to make Christmas Eve an easy day but it ended up being kind of busy.  We still had a bunch of deliveries to make, which we did in the rain.  We spent a good part of the day making and decorating gingerbread cookies because that's what the boys wanted to do.  After the cookies, we had a little family party and then went and saw a super cool holiday light display choreographed to music.  After that we came home to throw out reindeer food in the yard.  Next were baths and cookies for Santa.  All of these activities were punctuated by two little boys who could hardly contain their excitement.

gingerbread house

Jeff went to Harrison's school to help him make a gingerbread house.  I don't know who had more fun, Jeff or Harrison.
It has taken extreme self-control for the boys not to completely eat this.  It's funny how pieces of it have mysteriously disappeared.

touch a truck

We try to go to any event we can where the boys can climb on and explore big vehicles.  Even though it was cold and rainy, we still had fun.
Harrison was thrilled when he saw a police officer (a state trooper).  He asked to see his handcuffs, whistle and ticket book.  He even got to hold the handcuffs.  Then he took out his ticket book and showed the officer.
Leo was very hands on.  He honked every horn and pushed every button he could.
The boys loved the fact that most of the operators were also handing out candy.  They got to explore all kinds of city vehicles, a school bus, trolley, fire trucks, construction equipment and military vehicles, basically life-size versions of some of their favorite toys.

Leo's Christmas play

Leo's preschool Christmas program was so cute.  They performed the Christmas story and Leo was a sheep.  He was holding a stuffed sheep and was a little too preoccupied with that to sing the songs.

Then they had a little party and Santa came to visit.  Leo DID NOT want anything to do with Santa.
Our favorite firefighter, Ms. Karen, came to see Leo in his program.

Nanny Glo

My mom came from Texas for a visit.  She got here on Harrison's birthday and to say the boys were excited is an understatement.  They love playing with her.  The racetrack and lizards were two of Harrison's birthday presents.
Leo's face cracks me up.  Harrison was not interested in taking any pictures before church.
One of the best things about Nanny Glo's visit is all the baking she does with the boys.

I really enjoyed her helping me get the boys out the door every morning.
Harrison loved her walking him to and from the bus stop each day.
We tried to go see Santa while she was here but the line was two hours long so we just played instead.
This picture of Leo wearing a wig makes me laugh every time.
