November color days

Harrison's school color days this month were blue, yellow, brown and purple.

Leo's color days for November were brown and yellow.
Both the boys like everyone wearing the same color at school.
We had some warm days this month.  Today, Harrison's purple day, it was almost 80 degrees.  It must have been pretty warm on Leo's brown day (the 3rd) since he's wearing shorts.

Fall fun

Our leaf bagging day with some extra helpers.
Flips and throws in the leaves are a must.  Harrison insisted on wearing his Army police officer uniform one more time because he wanted to be in charge and tell people what to do.  (His words, not mine.)
With extra days off for Thanksgiving, we decided to go camping one more time before it gets too cold.  This time we opted for camping in the backyard.  Jeff set up the tent and we used the fire pit to cook hot dogs and marshmallows.
Jeff put up Christmas lights on the deck that day as well.  It was a busy day for him.
It was a cool night so we all snuggled together.
Our last bit of fall yard work was seeding the lawn.  Leo especially loved spreading the hay.
I love it when they are big helpers!

Thanksgiving

Leo had a Thanksgiving program and lunch at preschool.
I didn't get any pictures when we went to Harrison's school for his Thanksgiving lunch.  :(
The day before Thanksgiving I took the boys to a turkey pardoning at the museum.  They had lots of turkey crafts and games.  It was fun.
We had our actual Thanksgiving dinner at church this year.  They invited everyone who didn't have family in the area.  It was really nice. The kids enjoyed sitting at the kids' table and Jeff and I actually got to eat our whole meal without interruption.
We have so much to be thankful for!

Family pictures

I have been wanting to take family pictures in front of the waterfall at the museum for a long time.  This was finally the year.  We had the usual struggles of taking pictures with kids.  Additionally, Harrison struggled with keeping his shirt buttoned.  Every time he moved it popped open.  And, Leo struggled with it being too bright outside.  He was in tears when we first started because he wanted to wear his sunglasses.  I feel lucky that we got the pictures we did.
I LOVE these pictures of Jeff with the boys!
How cute is this?  Harrison was trying to shade Leo's eyes.
Since Harrison just got school pictures, I asked for some pictures of just Leo.

I live with some handsome fellas!

Leo's adoption day

We like to celebrate the day the boys' adoptions were finalized and remind them how happy we are that they are in our family.  Leo's special day was the 18th.  He got to pick all of his meals.  Per his request, breakfast was chocolate pancakes.  Lunch was cheese:  macaroni & cheese, cheese crackers and cheese sticks.  Dinner was Taco Bell.
Harrison made him a card.

We gave Leo a blue bouncy cow (which has been a huge hit) and I let him pick out a balloon.  He had a good day.
I can't believe it's been three years since this...

kung fu gymnastics

Leo can't help it.  Every piece of furniture we have is gym equipment to him.  This started off by me asking him to show me some gymnastics and quickly turned into moves from Kung Fu Panda.
I love how he's looking at me making sure I take the picture.
 His kung fu stance.
This is a small sampling of what happens every day at our house.

fall leaves

The boys so look forward to the day we rake the leaves.  We didn't even try to bag them this go round, just made some piles to play in.
In addition to having fun with the leaves, we realized that Harrison's shirt matched his jack-o-lantern face, teeth placement and all.

better late than never

We finally got around to carving our big pumpkin.  The boys were thrilled and didn't even care that Halloween was over or that it was November!
And, the finished product...a Harrison face & a Leo face.
