June extras

Nothing is out of reach for Grace anymore.  I had to remove the bar stools because she was using them to climb on top of the counters.  Now she just uses her toys to reach what she wants.
Leo lost another tooth.
Grace loves hats.
 new Lego creations
We are so, so happy that the museum has reopened, even with restrictions.
The boys are heroes!  We walked up to the otter area to watch them swim and noticed that one of the otters had a plastic bag it was playing with.  I told the boys to hurry and find a worker.   The otters were moved to safety while the plastic bag was removed from their habitat.  The boys were thanked profusely for saving the otters from potential harm.

more water fun

What we did a lot before the pool opened.
If you didn't already know, Leo is my poser.  He's always asking me to take pictures of him doing cool stuff.
Harrison snorkeling
I asked Jeff & the boys to all jump in at the same time so I could catch them all in the air.  You see how well that worked.

comfort zone

Grace finally started enjoying the pool this week.  I think a few things helped: hotter weather means warmer water, lots of friends were there and she felt more comfortable in the water.
Harrison took a break from his lifeguard duties to swim.  That's when Grace stole his hat.
She even let me take her in deeper water.
The steps are still her safe place but she got some practice in with the water wings.
I love seeing Grace enjoy the pool again and stretching her comfort zone.

water safety

Harrison helped the lifeguards at the end of the summer last year which, in his mind, meant that he was a lifeguard in training this year.  Thank goodness we have very nice people in charge of the pool who have allowed Harrison to live his best life at the pool.
He's only allowed to "work" when the head lifeguard is on duty and when the pool is not at capacity.  He gets to help with most of the lifeguard duties like cleaning the pool
and helping to test the chemicals.
Sometimes he gets to sit in the lifeguard chairs.
He also gets to hangout in the staff only areas on break.
He feels useful and important and loves every minute of it.
I love that we still live in a world where people care about making an eight-year-old happy.  Only seven years to go until he can be official.
