Father's Day

Jeff got a little shortchanged on Father's Day this year as we spent most of the day traveling.  I did make him his favorite dessert, and he received gifts from the kids.

It was easy to find pictures of Jeff just being a dad, not posing, not even looking at the camera, just enjoying being with the kids.  It's all these moments and a thousand more that Jeff & I prayed for and are now enjoying.  Jeff is really good at a lot of things, but being a dad is at the top of the list!

end of soccer

Spring soccer finally came to an end.  It started in March, with Grace's season ending in May and the boys' ending in June.  Jeff was the assistant coach for the boys' team.  Both teams had a team party where the boys got trophies and Grace got a medal.

Ellie was the only other girl on Grace's team.

Leo played right wing, right back and right mid while Harrison was the goalie.

Grace played defense and goalie this season.  She was the only goalie that could do the splits to block the ball.

Grace was definitely more aggressive this season.  Her team only lost one game.  She will move up next season to the 7-8 year old league.  The boys also had a successful season.  They won 8 games, tied 2 and lost 1.  Their first playoff game was the Saturday we were at the wedding and their team lost 1-0.  It was a tough way to end the season.  I'm personally glad to have our Saturdays and weeknights back.

Delaware

We went up to Maryland/Pennsylvania/Delaware for Leo's cousin's wedding and to visit family.  We stayed at an Airbnb that had a pool.  We thoroughly enjoyed every second of it!

The wedding was at a barn with beautiful surroundings.

Leo got to see a lot of family members he already knew and many ones he had never seen before.  He met an aunt, several first cousins, extended family, a half-sister and a niece for the first time!  (All on his birth father's side.)  He was told over and over how much he looks like his birth father did when he was younger.  I cannot believe all the characteristics, talents and abilities that Leo shares with his DNA relatives.  I LOVE finding this stuff out!

We met up with his half-brother & sister on his birth mother's side the next day.  Once again, it's crazy how similar they all are, especially since none of them have lived together in the same house.  I LOVE seeing these three together!!!

It was an incredible weekend.
