Harrison had a glorious week in Texas with his grandparents! He had been anticipating this for several months and could hardly contain himself when the time finally came. He is a kid who loves being outside and doing everything related to that. I don't think he did one thing the whole week that he didn't consider fun. It was cute hearing his report every day of what he had done. I appreciate my mom taking these pictures so we could see "the best time of his life". Here are some of the things Harrison enjoyed doing at Nanny Glo's and Papa Ronnie's.
Harrison likes to dig holes. They gave him and shovel and let him go.
He told me that fishing was his favorite and that if you reel a fish in, that means you caught it.
He got to help clean and cook the fish and of course he helped eat them.
Harrison made sure that we packed his apron so he could help in the kitchen. I don't know why he likes to bake in his underwear.
He got to visit his great grandfather in the nursing home while he was there.
Their new four-wheeler was a big hit. He even got to help "drive".
He told me they went fishing every day but that wasn't exactly accurate.
This was the first time Harrison had ever seen an airboat and he was fascinated by it.
He told me all about how he worked the tractor.
He became best friends with their little dog.
I had some initial hesitation as to whether, at five years old, Harrison would be ready to do this trip. We "trained" for the months leading up to the time to go so he would be ready (making sure he could do his baths and get ready by himself among other things). He did great! My mom said he wasn't homesick at all. He had too many fun things to worry about that.
