Harrison catches the bus at 6:30 AM. He had to stand facing a street light so I could get a picture before he left. He loves leaving early and getting home an hour and a half before Leo & Grace. I CANNOT believe we have a middle schooler!
Leo is the top dog in school now as a fifth grader. This is the first time since Pre-K that he hasn't been in school with Harrison.
and now, the kindergarten queen
Grace was so excited for her first day that she rubbed her chalkboard against her dress. Normally, that would have bothered her, but not today.
It warms my heart to see Leo & Grace walking to school together. This will be the only year that they'll be in the same school. I think Leo is secretly thrilled to be the protective older brother taking Grace to her class each morning, but he won't admit it.
Harrison came home beaming. He told me he made four new friends.
Then he made smores cookie sandwiches to celebrate the milestone.
Leo was too cool to give me any more than a thumbs up.
He didn't like that fifth grade recess is split up so he can't play soccer with all his buddies.
I had no doubt that Grace would have a great day.
I was reminded on this first day of school that the kids spend all day at school being quiet and still, listening, following rules and using their brains and that they don't necessarily want to do those things when they get home.😉 I do have high hopes for this year, though. I think we're all off to a good start!
