September extras

Jeff finished the puzzle he started Labor Day weekend.
My dad stopped by for a quick visit.
fun birthday party
unintentionally wearing the same destination on the same day
Chuck E. Cheese love
twinning at church
Leo found a turtle in our yard.
It was supposed to say "home sweet home" but Grace isn't wrong.  We do have a lot of sweat around here.
That's a wrap on September!

school stuff

Grace & Leo already took their school pictures.
3rd grade
8th grade
Grace has actual homework now.
Leo's art was picked to be in an art show LAST year and he didn't bother to let us know.  The art teacher gave it to us at back to school night.
Volleyball is in full swing.  Harrison has two games a week with practice on the other days.  Grace is their unofficial cheerleader.  She runs out on the court and does a flip after each set they win.
Harrison has marched in two parades so far.
He is marching on the center line, third from the front.
It's going to be a very full school year.

soccer

We've talked about travel soccer for a while with Leo, deciding not to do it until now.  Leo's best friend was begging him to join his team but tryouts were last Spring.  Reluctantly we agreed that Leo could do a few practices with the team to see if it was a good fit.  Leo was offered a spot on the team and because he joined the team late, he didn't even have a uniform for the first three games. It's a big commitment (3 practices, strength training & a game every week and big $$).  So far most games have been local although several out of town ones are on the schedule.
Leo really seems to enjoy the higher level of play and coaching.
Leo's school team had over 60 boys try out for soccer!  Leo was made a captain (hence the armband).
He scored twice in his first game and I captured one of them on video...left foot, bottom corner!

Leo has two practices and two games a week with school.  That's a lot of soccer for Leo!  He loves it and I love seeing him do what he loves.

Labor Day weekend

We went to Raliegh over Labor Day weekend to visit my friend (of over 20 years) Donna.  Leo had a soccer tournament, so we left him with his best friend's family while we were gone.  That was a first for all of us and it felt strange without him.  We stopped by Donna's house first to say hi and play with the pets.
She and I got a lot of girl time in shopping, eating out and catching up.
The night before we left we all went to this really awesome park after dark.  It's all lit up with a bunch of cool areas.  We went last year for the first and had to do it again this time.
Harrison took these two pictures below.
Donna & I didn't get any pictures together and not much else was documented of the weekend.  But, we all had a great time.  I treasure these annual get-togethers with her and the history we share.  True friends are the best!
