Leo's adoption day

November 18th is Leo's adoption day (the day his adoption was finalized).  He wanted monkey bread for breakfast and Chuck E. Cheese for dinner.  We really try to make it "his" day and make sure that he feels the love.  He was pretty excited about it.
Harrison & Grace had fun too.
Leo drew a picture for Chuck and got to present it to him.  Chuck E. liked it.
Grace loved these rides.
On the way home Leo said that it was the best night of his life.  November 18, 2013 was one of our best days!  Leo is such a special part of our family.

handsome Harrison

I asked my friend Debbie to take some pictures of Harrison for his birthday/baptism invitations.  Here are some of my favorites.
He really did not want to pose for pictures but did it anyway for me.  I jumped in at the end for a squeeze.  It's hard to believe how big he is!

Veterans Day

Back in August, the kids and I were at the park while Jeff was at drill.  He called to say he was getting home early and I asked him to meet us at the park.  The kids were so happy to see him.  I hurried and snapped these pictures when he picked up Grace.
These turned out so cute that I made sure to get some pictures with the boys when Jeff came home from drill in September.
Love this veteran of mine!  We are all so proud of Jeff's military service.  He is such a great example of service to God and country.

cub scout campout

The boys had their first cub scout campout.  It was two days, one night and cold.  They were all excited about it and managed to survive (Jeff included).
You never have to ask Leo to pose for pictures.  That's a compass whistle in his mouth.
 Harrison's group playing a game.
 Both the boys got badges.
Harrison thought tacos in a bag was the best idea.
Leo advanced from Bobcat to Tiger.
They all came home filthy, tired, cold and full of stories about their weekend.
P.S. Grace & I had a wonderfully relaxing weekend to ourselves!!

author of the week

Every week two student are selected to share a synopsis of a story they wrote with the whole school .  Harrison found out last week that he was chosen for Authursday (author + Thursday) this week.  He was very excited about it!  His story was about going to Legoland in Pennsylvania.  His teacher was kind enough to send me this picture of him on the morning announcements,
It was a good experience for him and another reason to be proud.

soccer

Leo's last soccer game for fall was this past Saturday.  He loved it and can't wait for winter soccer to begin.
 warming up before the game
during the game and a team shot after
They're missing three players.
yelling their team name - cheetahs
Harrison made this sign for the last game.
I only took pictures at one other game.
Leo's friend from school on the other team
This is the reason why I didn't take a lot of pictures.
Grace really did well for being at so many games and practices.

red ribbon week

Last week was red ribbon week, the say no to drugs campaign.  Each day was a different theme.
Monday - Follow your dreams - don't do drugs (wear pajamas)
(Harrison chose not to participate in this one.)
Tuesday - Don't be crazy - don't do drugs
(crazy clothes, hair, etc.)
that's blue hair chalk
Wednesday - wear red to say no to drugs
Thursday - Be a super hero - don't do drugs
(They both chose the Flash.)
Friday - Team up against drugs (wear your favorite team)
Leo loves LSU (like the rest of us) and Harrison loves any team from Pennsylvania.
