February extras

a little bit of this and a little bit of that
The kids had dental check-ups.  Once again, they continue to not have any cavities!  Grace and Leo both have two loose teeth.  Harrison has one baby tooth left and it's loose.
I was asked to chaperone the 5th grade field trip to the symphony.  I even got to ride the school bus.  That took me back!
And finally, it looks like this will be the first and last time Grace will wear her snow suit.  We haven't gotten any snow this winter, besides a few flakes.  Since this won't fit next year, I asked Grace to do some posing.

Nanny Glo

It's always wonderful when my mom comes to visit.
The kids love baking and cooking with her.
Leo asked her to make an Oreo cake and of course she did.
The kids had a half day and Presidents' Day off while she was here, so we were able to have lots of family time.
We love, love, love having Nanny Glo with us!  She does so much to help me and always leaves us with a freezer full of meals ready to go.  She makes each of the kids feel special, loved and important.  I adored my grandmother and am thankful that the kids have that relationship with my mom.  Grandma time is the best!

100th day of school, Valentine's Day and report cards

Valentine's Day and the 100th day of school fell on the same day.  It was a double fun day at school.
Lizzie came over so they could all walk (or shuffle) to school together.
such cute old people
My mom brought Valentines for all the kids with surprises inside. I only remembered to get a picture with Harrison.  Leo & Grace came home from school with tons of Valentine treats.
Last week the kids got report cards.  Grace received great marks and comments again.  Leo brought up two of his grades and Harrison made the honor roll again.  So proud!

Mardi Gras

Time to celebrate our Louisiana heritage!
My mom flew in from Louisiana on Mardi Gras in time to eat king cake.
It took two days to find the baby, but Grace was happy to get it.
We took my mom (Nanny Glo) to the amusement park and guess what they were celebrating.

soccer and scouts

Winter indoor soccer is in the books.  Leo scored every game he played in except for one and was the high scorer several times!
Leo's teacher (and Harrison's from last year) came to watch one of his games.
Leo missed two games because of Disney but was able to play the last game because it had been rescheduled.  They ended with a win!
Grace's team struggled, although that didn't seem to phase her.  For some reason, half of the players decided not to show up for most of the games and Grace would have to play the whole game.  She even had to play goalie, which isn't her favorite position.  She missed two games because of ear infections and two games because of Disney so I never got a team picture.
Harrison & Jeff went on the Klondike derby scout campout.  The scouts had to build a sled and use it to transport their gear while navigating a trail with stations to test their scouting skills.
