September extras

Harrison's activity group at church started meeting again.  They painted leaves to make Fall shirts.
Leo and my sister found a snake while taking a walk in our neighborhood.
nicer weather means more time outside, which means more time on the trampoline

so long September

beach day

Wednesdays are independent learning days for school.  If the boys finish their work early enough, we get to do something fun.  Today they wanted to go to the small beach closest to our house.  It was a mild day and too cold to swim in my opinion.  Grace pretty much stayed on the blanket, not even wanting to get her feet wet.  The boys couldn't stay out of the water.
Leo was living his best life.
Harrison caught a minnow.
The boys begged to go back in the evening since we couldn't stay long in the morning, so we did.
Grace had a fit wanting to wear her swimsuit because the boys were wearing theirs even though I knew she wasn't going to get in the water and would probably be cold.  (I was right about both of those.)
Harrison said he found a shark tooth.

We all had a good sandy day.

apples

In celebration of Fall's arrival, we went apple picking.  It was a little different this year with Covid still hanging around but we all had a good time.  The weather couldn't have been more perfect and my sister even got to come with us.

ready, set, go!
We picked Jonagold.  They were big, sweet, juicy and fun to pick.
How about them apples and Harrison's giant?!
These were so good!  The boys thought biting their apple without hands was an important skill.
waiting for our apple cider donuts
savoring every bite
While we were eating our donuts, a rather large praying mantis joined us.  Notice that Leo is wearing a praying mantis shirt.  I love it when things come together like that.
On this beautiful 65 degree sunny day, I had to try to recreate one of my favorite pictures from two years ago.  It's getting harder to do this.
