May extras

The boys got to participate in our local semi-pro soccer team.  Leo walked out with the players for the national anthem and Harrison was a ball boy during the game.

Music in the park

Harrison has really come into his own with the trumpet.  He has an excellent band director who has really helped Harrison develop his talent.  The band had a concert on the day we returned from Connecticut, and Harrison was recognized as one of eight band members who have excelled this school year.  So proud!
They also participated in the Music in the Parks competition, won first place AND received a superior rating!  I wasn't able to go to the performance but did chaperone their day at the amusement park to celebrate.

Connecticut part 2

Time spent together is time well spent.  I don't think we could have fit anymore into the time we had together.
helping Grace with her hair
and Grace helping Dave have some hair 🤣
The Memorial Day parade passes right in front of Uncle Todd & Aunt Tina's house, which means we get a perfect spot.
Jeff proving his strength.
After the parade we enjoyed the oldest amusement park in America.
Grace was a little scared of the height of the carousel, so she sat in the safest place.  Meanwhile, Jeff & Leo flew like a bird in the sky.
We had the restaurant all to ourselves and Harrison got to help prepare the food again.
incredible food with incredible people
water balloons, Legos making bracelets and makeovers
Another wonderful visit!

Connecticut part 1

Oh, Connecticut, it takes forever to get there, but it's worth every minute of the journey.
We went straight to Aunt Joan's house for family, food, fun and a birthday celebration.  We all had a wonderful time, even if it was rainy and wet.  The kids made up their own game of throwing axes while Grace and Leo tried to hit them away from the target.
Grace's birth mom made her birthday cake.
Gifts galore for Grace and the boys...
and so, so much love!
There were so many moments of recognition, seeing Grace in her cousins, aunts, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  The more I learned, the more I marveled at the similarities.
Her grandmother & aunts playing with Barbies and her great-grandmother doing gymnastics - two things Grace LOVES!  The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
There is absolutely no denying DNA!
The next day we spent feeling the love with Grace's birth father and his family.
I could never have imagined the people we would meet, the places we would go or how the love for all three of the kids would be multiplied when Grace was born.  Yet, here we are, enjoying every second of it, and it just keeps getting better.
We are so blessed!
