family pictures
Mr friend Debbie graciously agreed to take some updated family pictures for us. It was ninety degrees with full sun but we did it. Thank goodness for a friend with patience and heat tolerance. Here are just a few of my favorites.
I was so happy to get some pictures of me with the boys.
I told the boys they could each bring a toy and have their picture taken with it. Harrison chose Legos of course. Leo brought his Hulk.
The boys were such troopers and did everything we asked of them. This is the perfect opportunity to visually reflect on how blessed we are.

strawberries
May means strawberries are in season. We went to the farm with some friends and enjoyed the hot day. It was a bit windy on the ferry.
Strawberry picking for the boys is kind of like a treasure hunt. They're excited when they find some good ones.
Leo is always trying to throw Spiderman webs.
Everyone is cooled off and happy after eating strawberry ice cream.

butterflies!
My mom sent the boys a cup of caterpillars since the ladybugs were such a hit. They watched them grow everyday until they made a chrysalis. Then it was time to move them carefully to the net enclosure. Four attached to the cup lid and one stayed in the cup.
After seven to ten days they started to hatch, two on one day and three the next day.
After a few days it was time to release the butterflies. We all thought that the butterflies would fly out as soon as we opened the enclosure. That didn't happen.
It was time to go to school so we had to zip it up and bring them in. (by the way, it was jersey day for Leo at school)
The next day we tried again.
We had to take things into our own hands. I took the orange out which had three butterflies on it. Then the boys each had a turn.
It was very cool watching the butterfly stages up close and personal. The boys loved the experience!

Leo's field trip
Leo's class went to the farm for this field trip. It was a really hot day but Leo still had fun. He got to see and pet the goats so he was happy.

This friend gets Leo into trouble sometimes.
I know it's a little thing, but I love getting to go and do things like this with the boys.
