July extras

Leo got in trouble by the life guard one day and had to sit out for 5 minutes.  This is how he chose to spend that time waiting.
Harrison and Leo both lost a tooth in July.
Say "cheeeeese".
Now scream.
The recent picture is Grace trying to get me to hold her hands so she can jump off the stairs instead of taking a picture.  The one on the right was Grace's first Easter where she was very unhappy that I wouldn't let her eat a flower.  I wonder how many more of this expression we'll see over the years!
This is the reason I desperately want the boys to go back to school....amazing teachers.  Leo's first grade teacher emailed me one day saying that she had something for Leo and could we meet her at the school.  Leo likes to use Oreos as his subject for a lot of his school work.  She remembered that and thought of him when she was grocery shopping.
The boys had workbooks this summer to stay sharp on their grade level skills.  They each got to pick a reward for when they completed it.  Harrison finished his and has been enjoying his new Legos.  Leo is very close to being done with his.
I tried to re-introduce the bar stools again.  One second later Grace was sitting on the counter like she was posing for a picture.
My sister moved from Arizona to North Carolina (almost six hours away from us).  We went down for a weekend to help her move in.  The boys (especially Harrison) were such good helpers!  Even Grace did what she could.
Lastly, Grace kept pointing to this mannequin and insisting it was me.  This is humorous on so many levels!
Goodbye July!

Harrison's adoption day

In Harrison's eyes, July 19 is second only to his birthday.  It's his special day to celebrate the day his adoption was finalized.  He was pretty darn excited about it this year.  He picked out snickerdoodle bread for breakfast, pasta for lunch and Red Robin for dinner.
His one gift (that he really, really wanted) was a kid's smartwatch.
I found some super long spaghetti (measuring 30 inches when cooked) that everyone enjoyed.
Red Robin, with all their safety measures, was a success.  The kids even got balloons on the way out.
If we hadn't had a wonderful experience with Harrison's adoption, we wouldn't have pursued another and another.  He was our first miracle.  He made us a family and expanded our capacity to love.  It's a joy to have a day celebrating Harrison being in our family!

Happy Birthday Jeff!

Happy, happy birthday to the leader of our tribe!  We celebrated Jeff's milestone birthday at home with just us.  We had bigger plans that keep changing because of COVID-19.  We'll see if we ever get to celebrate like we originally planned.  Regardless, Jeff is the best partner for me and the best father I could have imagined.  The kids were thrilled to celebrate his birthday.
Jeff got to sleep in, eat all his favorite meals, open presents and we went to the pool.  He asked for pictures with the kids at the pool, which is always easier said than done.

red, white & cute

I believe Grace is the most patriotic two year old of 2020.  We have very generous friends and family who have kept her outfitted in the red, white and blue this month.
She's an all-American girl.
When your brothers have cool toys, sometimes you have to steal one to help secure your puzzle.
⭐ God bless America, my home sweet home. ⭐
