May miscellaneous

May was a whirlwind and was over before we knew it.
two of my cuties after church
Harrison's class won a free lunch from Olive Garden because they raised the most money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Grace doing a two second stand at Leo's soccer practice
I let the boys paint this letter G for Grace's room.  They wrote sweet notes on the back.
This was Harrison's solution to Grace getting in the drawers.  It worked!
Leo wanted me to take a picture of his pink tooth.  (It's his tongue.)
And finally, Harrison bit into an apple at school and his tooth came out in the apple.  The school nurse gave him the little blue box to put his tooth in so he wouldn't lose it.

neighborhood pool

Our pool opened this weekend but we were gone.  We got home sooner than expected on Monday and the boys begged to go swimming.  We've had so many 90 degrees days that it felt great!
Harrison passed the swim test!  Now he can jump off the diving board.
love those little feet & that face
This will be the first of many, many pool pictures this summer!

Memorial Day weekend

We drove to Raleigh for the weekend.  It's somewhat of a tradition to go to my good friend, Donna's house to kick off the summer.  The first thing we did was go to the pool.  This was our first family swim of the year and first time ever for Grace in the pool.
She was a little clingy at first but liked it once she got used to it.  What she did not like was getting splashed in the face.
Donna's daughter, Hayden loved Grace and always wanted to hold her.
Of course the boys had a blast.  Harrison even passed the swim test enabling him to go in the deep end.
The next day we went to the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences.  All the kids had fun here.
That's a beetle Harrison is holding.
This is Grace's first juice box.  She sucked it down.
Donna's yard is awesome and the boys loved exploring all of it.
Jeff & Harrison helped fix her fence.  Good thing Harrison brought his construction hat.
They asked me to take pictures of their favorite spots in the backyard.
 It was a great trip!
On the way home the boys got to eat their museum treats, a gummy gecko and a (real) scorpion sucker.

birthday preview

Grace had her birthday pictures taken today.   What a sweet preview to her actual birthday in ten days.
I was excited about how Grace would handle her smash cake.
She immediately took out the candles but it took her a little while to get into the cake.

time to get cleaned up
We just could not get Grace to smile, she was too interested in everything in the studio.  Regardless, this almost one year old was a pro.  She never disappoints.
