the first nine weeks

The first nine weeks of school are history!  Coming back to school full time did take some getting used to (March 2020 was their last seven hour school day).  Leo still complains about the day being so long.  However, they both are still so happy to be going to school.  During this quarter, Harrison had to be home for two weeks to quarantine and Leo got sent home twice for Covid-like symptoms (a headache and spitting out his lunch because it had mustard in it which got reported as vomiting).  Besides that, I think it's been a great beginning of the school year!  Now to brag.  Report cards came out today.

Harrison has two B's and the rest A's!  Here's some of what his teacher said in the comments:  "Harrison has worked very hard during the first quarter.  He has been a positive presence in the classroom.  He volunteers to help out around the room and is always willing to help other students."  That sounds like Harrison!

Jeff & I decided to try something new at the beginning of this school year.  If the kids read every school night for 20 minutes (Leo) and 30 minutes (Harrison), then they got a prize that they got to pick out (under $10).  That has been quite the incentive because both of the boys accomplished that goal!  I am so proud of both of them!  Hopefully the rest of the school year will be just as successful.
All of the books Harrison read at home the first nine weeks and his prize, Legos of course!

Leo had two B's and the rest A's on his report card!  Here is some of what his teacher said in the comments:  "Leo has been a pleasure to have in my classroom so far this year.  Leo makes us laugh every day and is a very kind student."  That sure sounds like Leo!
All of the books Leo read during the first nine weeks and his prize, hot wheels.  I was shocked he picked cars and not a wrestler.  Leo loves to keep us guessing!

And, not to be left out, Grace had to pick out a prize as well because she also reads books every day.  That's what she calls us reading to her haha.
She picked out an Elsa doll.  So when the boys got their prizes for reading, she got one as well.

I am so, so proud of these kids!!
